But don’t let that deter you, because North Port is a hidden gem located in the southwestern part of the state, on the Gulf of Mexico coast.
Located in the heart of Sarasota County, North Port is the perfect halfway point between Tampa and Fort Myers. It’s a part of the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice Metropolitan Statistical Area, which sounds fancy, but really just means it’s surrounded by other great cities.
North Port Florida may be a young city, having only been incorporated in 1959, but it’s grown up fast. It’s now home to over 80,000 residents and counting. It’s like a teenager who hit a growth spurt and is taller than their parents.The best part is that North Port is a popular destination for people of all ages.
